Greg Sanders is, in blunt terms, a science geek that likes to have fun. He's the joker that has more brains than he knows what to do with. He likes to party and hang out with his friends, but don't let his often crazy hair-do's fool you, he's really serious about his work, especially since he's moved from DNA lab tech extraordinaire to CSI level one. He used to be know around the lab for being the excentric guy that listen to rock music too loud, but now it seems that he was only that way because he was bored. Now that he's in the field, he saves his childish antics for after hours. It took him years to get in the field and he isn't going to do anything to blow it.

Greg is originally from San Fransisco, and went to school both there, but spent a year in New York City before attending Stanford. He's an only child and because of this his mother is a little over protective, which could explain some of his childish behaviour, as he wasn't allowed to be a kid when he was one. That all ended when they discovered that he's gay and he left home. This is why he went to New York before going to school and then working in Las Vegas. He loves his parents, but he needed his own space.

Aside from Chemistry, Greg is an avid surfer and a chess player. He one day wants to play Grissom at chess, but doubts that he would ever be in a situation to play him. He also enjoys changing his hair styles and going dancing.
